Now you are wondering how’s that possible, isn’t it? let me tell you. This type of Real-Time location tracking is done by Processing the cellular data from big Telecom companies like – AT & T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon network.
These such companies the cellular data for their own Marketing purposes but for Instance, It’s mostly for Discounted offers to regular buyer when they are in a shop or mall for higher revenues.
Now it maybe sound very helpful to you but wait…That’s not the only thing my friend, If you see this this from another perspective than you will notice that this Technology has opened the Doors for the potential ” Government Backed Surveillance ” for the citizens. ” And you know what, It just so ridiculous that the Securus provide the citizens real time location to the Government officials. As sometimes it is done without a court verification for the legal purposes. ”
Also the worst thing is that all it needs is just to visit the so called Securus portal > Then enter any US citizen mobile number and just submit a Official Document for permission giving to Access the data stored in their servers. In a report Wyden said that their is no effort made by the Securus officials to verify the uploaded documents in the system.
Such type of things just scares sometimes that someone is keeping an eye on your daily life activities always & he is just a click away from the system. Government should take some actions this type of activities to make sure the citizens can have some privacy.
